New Life Member for Golf Club

New Life Member Bob Swindlehurst.

It was with great pleasure that I nominated Mr. Bob Swindlehurst for Life Membership of the Stratford Golf Club. Bob and his late wife Carolyn have been wonderful members of the golf club for many years.Bob first joined in 1980 as a keen golfer, participating in all club events. He especially enjoyed playing in the club championships being very competitive. Bob won the Jr Championships in 1994 & 2011 Int Championship 1998 Stroke Play Championship 2010.

Bob was elected to the committee in 1993. His knowledge of the game, his business awareness and his attitude to get the job done was a real asset to this club. Bob was course convenor 1993-2001. As Bob owned a farm contracting business his knowledge of machinery was highly valued. During his time as course convenor under his management we were able to trade our replacement machinery. He spent many hours wheeling and dealing with salesmen. Bob was elected President in 2002 and held that position until 2008.What Bob has contributed to this club in time and financially is endless.

I would like to mention just some of the work he has done. Paid for the drain digger to clean up and repipe the hazard at the 13th.Organised the quotes and installation of the watering system in 1995.Spread and paid for fertilizer on the course.Organised the installation of the bridge at the 5th hole gap. Organised the building of the new tractor shed. Spent hours of time cleaning up pine trees at Flint Road that were blown down in a storm.Organised bus trips for social outings with club members.

Bob you have been a wonderful member of this golf club.I propose Mr Bob Swindlehurst to be a Life Member of the Stratford Golf Club.
