Mens Stroke Play Champs Decided


Three rounds of mens stroke play champs have now been completed.


After the second round of the club stroke play champs T. Cawley and B. Gibbons had a comfortable leads in the senior and intermediate divisions.

The junior division was still open going into the last round. G Kelly shot a 82 in the first round holding a seven shot lead over the rest of the field .V. Jones was the next closest with a 89.

The 2nd round V Jones then shot an 81 giving him a two shot lead going into the final round.

The haggle on the day was won by V. Jones with a nett 61, with T. Walsh on 68 and T. Cawley and B. Gibbons on 69.

The final round of 2017 stroke play champs was played in perfect conditions on Saturday 22nd April.

Jones shot an 85 leaving Kelly needing to shoot a 83 or better. Kelly was unable to reach that score leaving V Jones the winner of the Juniors.

The Seniors and intermediates went to T. Cawley and B. Gibbons respectfully.

The winner of the haggle was V. Jones with a net 66, followed by T. Walsh on 69, M. Willis 71 and G. Bishop on 72

The Top Dog Qualifying will be played on Saturday 29th April with the seeding done by the total stableford of each pairing.

This year there does not have to be a senior/junior partnership and there is a sheet in the clubhouse for entries.

Ladies

On Tuesday 11 April 2017 the Ladies Played Captains Trophy, matchplay. The winners were Heather Vivian, Pauline Downs, Diane Morresey and Debbie Volzke. Next week 25 April 2017 is a later Tee off at 12 noon. Starters Bobbie Oliver and Lynette Harrison.

On Tuesday 18 April 2016 the ladies played Hope Penn, LGU etc and Putting. Best Nett was Jenny Oien with 78. Best Putts was Mary McQuay with 25 followed by Bobbie Oliver with 31. Next week 2nd May 2017 is a mixed day with the 9 holers. Starters Cindy Luond and Heather Vivian.
