Through a whole lot of luck, the first round of the Summer Cup went ahead with 37 players turning up to have a crack and it would be fair to say the scoring was fantastic.
My apologies though to the members as I set the comp up as a Stableford comp where traditionally it is a Nett comp, not sure what made me think it wasn't but alas once some of the cards had been entered it was too late to change the format in case of pick ups.
Either way our top 3 would not have changed and its Terry Johnson leading the comp after shooting a one over par score of 73 for to score 42 points to lead by one from new full member Chris Lord who had 41 points, they are closely followed by evergreen Henry Morton, Vaughan Jones, Mark Midgley, Paul Dodunski and Troy Sorenson all on 39 points.
As this weekend is a long weekend the 2nd round of Summer Cup is the 11th of Feb, this Saturday we are holding the Shootout Comp which is an interesting format and enjoyed by all who front up, this year it is the back nine that will be played so assemble by 11am with a 11.30 am tee off.
If you don't wish to play Shootout please tee off before 11am and it would be wise to tee off the back 9 first so you don't crash into the Shootout competition on your 2nd 9.
