Stratford Golf Weekly Update

The first round of the intermediate and junior match play champs was played last Saturday with a few games going to the 19th, but there was no major upsets.

Saturday 17th is round two of the above and the draw is;

11.00 B. Knowles v K. Johns, B. Daysh v T. Cooksley; 11.15 J. Erwood v W. Dymond, S. Ngatai v M. Walsh, 11.30 C. Merson v P.Shearer, B.Swindlehurst v G. Kelly, 12.00 L.Eagar v B. Gibbons, M. Cook v N. Bertie.

The final of the Under Dog was played on Saturday 3rd and this years winners are Terry Johnson and Andy Best who defeated D. Bates and Roger Fitzpatrick.

The HTL Insurance Egmont Championship was played on Sunday 11th and with the course in top condition and the weather perfect, the course proved it’s not as easy as it looks.

Winner of the 36 hole event was Opunake golfer Aaron Langton with a total gross score of 148. Runner up was Joseph Doyle followed by Brooke Gray.

36 Hole net winner was Brad Cottam, 2nd was M. Sharp followed by E. Jones.

Winner of the 18 hole ladies division was H. Vivian from M. McQuay.

The Mens 18 hole stablesford was won by S. Ngatai, with B. Vidler second followed by L. Eagar.
