Shootout Champion

After a couple of false starts due to weather we finally got the Summer Shootout played, a field of 23 took on the 9 hole challenge of being the last man standing and once again as a competition it didn't disappoint with a fair few newbies having there first crack at it an a blast from the past in ex champion Brent Rawlinson showing up to try his luck.

Going into the final 2 holes on the front 9 there was 6 players left with 3 to go the 8th with Murray Cook, Brad Gibbons and Kalib Kolevski missing the final cut after not securing their pars, so the final hole saw Jono Erwood, Brent Rawlinson and Ryan Cunningham tee it up off the 9th to decide this years champion, sadly for Ryan 2 out of bounds off the tee saw him disappear from the battle so it was down to Jono and Rawly with Jono getting the better of Rawly after Rawly had a couple of misfires down the last but a great effort form Rawly who showed a lot of fight over the 9 holes, congrats to Jono though as he was the most consistent on the day and a deserving winner.

Wednesday will be the final night of twilight for this year but be warned if you are not teed off before 5.30 you are likely to be playing in the dark, Brad and I intend to hit off by 5.15 so if you need a card made up please txt me so I can have one waiting or leave one for you, number is 021936082.

This Saturday sees the start of Strokeplay Champs, divisions are seniors 0-10.3, intermediates 10.4-17 and juniors 17.1 to infinity, a txt for those that wish to be in the draw will be sent in the next 24 hours with the plan being to try an assemble 4's hitting off the same tee as seniors and intermediates will play off the Blue tees and juniors the Whites, this should be an interesting year with a lot of new faces gunning for titles across all the divisions so lets have a bumper turn out and remember the 3rd round counts for seeding in the matchplay so if you cannot make all the rounds at least make that one.

There will be a haggle in each division and depth of prizes will be guided by numbers of entries in each division, good luck to all
